Dog Examinations
On the owners first appointment we will ask for some basic contact information, the name and telephone number of your vet and any pre-existing health/medical conditions of your pet. This is essential should we need to contact you or your vet whilst your dog is in our care. You will also be asked to provide evidence of vaccinations. It is important you let us know of any changes to this information and provide updated vaccination records as appropriate. We treat your information as private and confidential and will not share this information with any third party other than your vet should we need to.
Matted Fur
Small de-matting is expected as part of a standard grooming sessions, additional de-matting sessions are available at an extra cost and the owner agrees to pay the cost whether or not the groomer is able to complete the job. If your dog has a severely matted coat our policy is to remove the coat by shaving close to the skin using electric clippers. This can in some cases cause skin irritation or skin nicks from the close shaving. You agree that Pawfection will not be held responsible for any affect that this has after the grooming session is complete. We understand owners want to keep traditional styles however removing the coat in this way is the most humane and kind way for your dog and we can work together to bring your dog’s coat back to the condition and style you want through regular follow up appointments which Pawfection can recommend.
We reserve the right to refuse aggressive or difficult dogs with behavioural problems. The owner must agree to inform us that their dog is known to be aggressive or has ever bitten anyone. The owner understands that they will be legally liable for the consequences of all bites caused by their dog. If a dog shows excessive aggression during the groom we have the right to use a soft muzzle. If we are unable to complete a groom due to aggressive behaviour the owner agrees to pay for any work carried out to that point.
Disclaimer
I the customer confirm my pet is fit healthy and all details provided are correct. I agree that the groomer will not be held liable or responsible for irritation, abrasion, patchiness or hair loss due to any pre-existing skin conditions or as a result of the process of grooming, de-matting, thinning, stripping or shaving or any other mishap caused by my non-disclosure of my pet’s medical condition or behaviour.
Photographs
For purposes of marketing and promoting, Pawfection will take photos of dogs being groomed to demonstrate services and quality of work carried out. These photographs may be used on the website and social media sites. You the customer agree to this unless you inform Pawfection otherwise.
We will carry out a health check before and during the grooming session and will notify the owner of anything untoward that we find. It will then be the owner’s responsibility to seek veterinary advice. We are not medical professionals and our health checks do not replace the need to take your dog to the vets for check-ups, advice and treatment. If any parasites are found during the grooming session the client agrees for them to be cleared at the client's expense. If the pet’s health causes concern, the client authorizes the company to obtain veterinary treatment at the client's expense.
Our Insurance
At all times Pawfection have full Public Liability Insurance in the event of damage, accident or loss to your pet or our staff.
Cancellation of Appointments
Please give us a minimum of 48-hour notice if you need to cancel an appointment. Missed appointments may incur a 50% fee due to loss of income and travelling costs to your property.
Payment
I agree to pay all charges the day I pick up my pet, and I understand that my pet may not leave Pawfection until all charges are paid in full. I understand that any animal left beyond the estimated day of pick-up will be considered abandoned.
